Career highlight: 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, The atmosphere at these games was incredible, and competing in front of a big home crowd was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in sport.

Favourite thing outside of swimming: Scuba Diving, I love exploring a completely different world.

Favourite PureSport flavour: Banana Berry

Travis’ story:

Hi my name is Travis Nederpelt, and I am currently Training for selection in my 3rd Olympic games for Swimming. I have been Involved in swimming my whole life and started by chasing my older brother Jarrad up and down the pool. By the time I was 17 (and I had realised my childhood dream of finally beating my brother) I was selected on the Australian Swim Team to compete in the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona. Since then I’ve had the privilege of competing in 2 Olympic Games (2004 and 2008), 4 World Championships, and my personal highlight: the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

After the 2008 Beijing Olympics I took some time off from swimming to pursue goals outside of sport, before returning back to hard work in the pool. Over the last 2 years I have been taking part in some of the most purposeful training of my career. I have always been known as a really hard worker but this time around I’m making a point of training smarter too, this means taking care of my technical work and my recovery as well as all the hard stuff. Hopefully all my hard work pays off at our Olympic selection trials this year and I can count myself amongst swimming’s elite as a Triple Olympian.

Testimonial:

Including both Puresport’s workout and recovery formulas into my training regime has given me the opportunity to get a little bit more out of myself in the pool. The benefits of the workout formula are noticeable in the last 25% of my sessions where I feel less of a fade out effect from fatigue than I have experienced on other sports drinks. The Banana Berry Recovery formula is my favourite and has had me coming back to the next session feeling that 10% better, which is important to me because I train 13 times a week.
